CLAY CENTER is a
community that has moved into the new millennium with a
solid understanding of the needs of today’s family.
CLAY CENTER
takes pride in providing its citizens access to a

shopping, growing business and industry, civic organizations, historical society,

The Clay Center Area Chamber
of Commerce has several annual celebrations designed to generate traffic flow to
our community. Among them is our
Piotique Festival
(pie-o-teek: combining the words “pioneer” and “antique”) with its parade, arts & craft
vendors, a kiddie parade, Old Car Nuts vintage car display, live entertainment,
and other activities the last Saturday in September. Others events include an
Easter egg hunt, citywide garage sale,
sidewalk sale,
Independence Day Celebration, Halloween Howl
and costume
contest, and Christmas
promotion
activities which
include Santa flying in from the north pole and greeting children at Santa's
Workshop located on the courthouse square.
For recreation, Clay Center
has five lovely parks with picnic areas and a zoo, an outdoor swimming
pool, bowling alley, six lighted tennis courts, a nine-hole
country club golf course and a nine-hole public golf course, and eight ball
diamonds for baseball and softball. Two free RV parks are also located in Clay Center.
Lastly, the Tuttle Creek Lake, Milford Reservoir and the Steve Lloyd Wetlands
are all within a few minutes drive. Great hunting and fishing are also a part of the charm of the
Clay Center area.
