Events

The Chamber of Commerce is responsible for coordinating various community events. We do this to enhance Clay Center's quality of life and to attract shoppers to strengthen our economy. Chamber Events include: the Easter Eggstravaganza, City-Wide Garage Sale, Independence Day Celebration, Piotique Festival, Piotique 10K/2Mile Run, Halloween Howl, Santa Flying in from the North Pole, and Christmas Promotion. Our dedicated board and community volunteers are very much a part of our success. A SPECIAL THANKS goes to our Chamber Event Sponsor, who without them, the above events would not be possible. COMMUNITY COFFEE: Scheduled every Wednesday morning from 8:00 am - 9:00 am in the Education Room at the Clay County Medical Center, 617 Liberty St. The Education Room is located on the second floor just above the Wellness Center. THE CLAY COUNTY BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR will be August 7, 2010 at the Clay Center High School. Applications can be picked up at Head Start, Pawnee Mental Health, Early Head Start, or the Clay County Health Department. You can also click this link APPLICATION to download an application.

Community Booths. There will be FREE school supplies and bookbags and fun activities. The DEADLINE for applications is July 26. For more information, contact Becky Guy, Head Start, 785-632-2195.

FARMERS MARKET: Come enjoy the atmosphere of home grown fruits and vegetables from downtown Clay Center on the Square. The Farmer's Market is open every Saturday morning.

RELAY FOR LIFE:

- July 28th Have dinner at Wendy's and earn money for Relay for Life to help cancer

research

- July 29th Fundraiser for Betty Rott - Ray's Apple Market

- August 20th at the Football Stadium

PIOTIQUE FESTIVAL: This year's theme is "MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE". Piotique is conveniently scheduled each year on the last Saturday in September to accommodate all the Clay Center Alumni who return each year for a reunion. This is another Chamber event sponsored by our Chamber Event Sponsors. The morning will begin with a 10K/2Mile run, There will be kiddie games, food and craft vendors, entertainment and a Grand Parade. Click the link above to get more details and to sign up for events.
